Masonic History…

I began my Masonic and career in the fall of 1968 by joining then Commonwealth Lodge 695. This lodge merged with Tryian Lodge became Tryian Commonwealth Lodge 362. I received my Master Mason Degree in spring of 1969.
In April of 1972, I joined the Erie Consistory, Scottish Rite of Erie. Then I joined Zem Zem Shrine in November of 1972. I have been a life member since 1978. I then joined the Arab Patrol immediately and in November of 1973, was elected Secretary of the Arab Patrol. I was Secretary for three years, then Vice President and finally President in 1978. Since then, I have been Secretary for 17 years and currently Secretary of the Patrol. I have marched with the Patrol consistently since 1972 until being elected Treasurer of the Shrine in 2015. I was Noble of the Year in 2007. I also so belong to the Presque Isle 200 “Q” and the Royal Order of Jesters.
I have been involved with the Activities Committee for most of my 44 years as a Shriner, serving as Chairman in 1991, 1993, 2010, and 2011. I also have been Treasurer of the Committee for four years. I was chairman of the Masonic Picnic held at Waldameer Park from 2005 until 2013. I was a member of the Futures Committee from 2004 until 2009.
I am currently volunteering as a driver for Shriners Hospital-Erie and have been doing this for over seven years. The driving has taken me to Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to see that our patient receive the best care possible. This is one of the most rewarding jobs I have had with the Shrine. To see children who cannot walk the first time you pick them up and eventually watch them walk out of the Hospital on their own.

I retired in 2008 after 45 years from McCarty Printing as a Production Manager and Facilities Manager of the McCarty plants and properties.

I am married to my wife Susan for five years and have two daughters, one on Warren, PA and one in Greenville, SC.
